Sheepdogs capable of herding a flock, sheep that provide the milk from which the unmistakable Gorbeia cheese is made, and people determined not to let such an important tradition die out. Come and visit our cheese dairy (Atxeta Gazta), where you can see how Idiazabal Designation of Origin cheese is made and enjoy a tasting of cheese produced using raw milk from our sheep and natural rennet. You’ll also get to meet the ‘latxa’ sheep, the native breed of the Basque Country, and learn about the vital role played by the Gorbeia sheepdogs.
