Pasealekua dates from the 19th century and Bolalekua is a neoclassical project from 1861.
Pasealekua: Dating from the 19th century, it is situated next to the pelota court and serves a variety of purposes, primarily as a promenade and shopping area, opening out onto Plaza Nagusia. Its roof is supported by classical columns. It is unrivalled in Bizkaia. Bolalekua: Beneath the pasealeku. It is a neoclassical project dating from 1861. It is a narrow space whose roof is supported by a row of classical columns that separate the playing area from the spectators’ area. The series of stately columns is particularly noteworthy. These two spaces allow us to reflect on the fine customs that the Enlightenment offered to the citizens. It must be said that in the Basque Country, the game of skittles has always been very popular; it is even mentioned in our mythology when speaking of ‘jentilarriak’ (dolmens). According to legend, these jentilarriak were thrown by the gentiles. Today it has been converted into an exhibition hall.
Church of Saint Marina
It is the second most important public building in the town. It was built in the 16th century, in the Renaissance style.
